Madeleine and family backpacking around the globe

Dubai

Dubai! We got to see amazing sights, the biggest and even tallest of things! But the best part was seeing my Aunt Lois and Uncle Guy who have lived in Dubai for 10 years. We loved seeing their new apartment and relaxed by painting, playing VR, watching movies, and hanging out together!

Once we arrived, we got a cab to our Airbnb where there was a cat waiting by the patio door wanting to come in! The owner said the last renter fed the cat and let her in the apartment. We took that as permission to feed the cat, who we thought might have been pregnant. Dubai was definitely another cat city.

Later that night, we went to dinner and caught up. As our Christmas present, Guy and Lois told us that the next day, they would take us to the biggest Waterpark in the world! Me and William were jumping for joy – my mom not so much! The next day we enjoyed giant tube rides, lazy rivers, and surfing simulations!

In the evening, we had a delicious dinner on the Palm, a man-made development that looks like a palm-tree which you can even see from space.

On the 2nd day, we had lunch at Samba Sushi on the 57th floor of a building. It was so delicious! In the afternoon, we did a boat trip around the Palm and Marina. We had such a fun time looking at the different boats, one was a speedboat which looked like a tiny race car!

On the 3rd day, we saw the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world where we saw amazing light & fountain shows. We also went to the biggest mall in the world!

On our final day, we went to the creek, a historic part of the city. It was really hot but we tried to savor the last moments of heat before getting to England. We spent the last evening watching a movie and feeling sad about saying goodbye.

We loved our time there, and our aunt and uncle made it so special! Thank you so much! And thank you for reading!

Recently, I’ve been really missing you all so much! And I love reading everyone’s comments!

We are a family of 4, my parents met traveling and later had kids and decided that they would take us traveling around the world too! And that’s how it all started!
