The Rest of England

I’m sad to say that we have reached the end. England is officially done. But you don’t actually know what we’ve done in England, so let’s get going!

England was full of family and fun, and good weather. We went to Hadrian’s wall, horse racing, a rugby game, a soccer game, went down a coal mine, went to my mom’s old school, pubs, and stayed with my cousins, grandparents, and friends!

First, I want to talk about things that are different from back home. For example, hot water bottles. Because it is usually so cold at night in England, you want to sleep with something warm and a hot water bottle under your covers is perfect!

Next is outdoor washing lines. Basically instead of drying your clothes in a drying machine, you have an umbrella without the cloth material which you hang your clothes onto with clothes pins, and you wait for it to dry in the sun.

Then there’s the pubs. They are like a bar mixed with a restaurant and coffee shop. If you have ever been to England, you know that you have to go to one.

Lastly, the Eurovision Song Contest. If you have never heard of this, you are missing out. It’s a competition where 1-5 people are in a group and sing for their country. Each group is chosen to represent their country and to try to be voted the best singers. (I love it!)

We got to spend 2 weeks with my grandparents and it was so fun! We also got to celebrate my Grandads 75th birthday with my grandparents, cousins, aunt and uncle, my great aunts and great uncle, and my mom’s cousin. We were all so happy to spend time with all of our family that live so far away!💖

Lastly, I want to tell you about some of our amazing friends who are champion runners! After our boat trip, we visited one of my mom’s best friends who has 3 daughters, and 2 of them are twins. We got to watch Eve and Isobel live on TV running 800 meters at an invitational race. They came first and second place and now are the fastest under 13 800 meter runners in England this year! We’re so proud of them!

I had so much fun in England! I want to say a big thank you to family and friends who took such good care of us and gave us such a fun time.

Thank you for reading! Love you all, and miss you all!

We are a family of 4, my parents met traveling and later had kids and decided that they would take us traveling around the world too! And that’s how it all started!
