What are the Andes?
The Andes Mountains are huge mountains covered with snow which spread from Colombia to Patagonia. Today, I’m going to talk about Mendoza and Santiago, which are on either side of the mountains.

Let’s start with Mendoza which is a lovely city covered with loads of parks, wineries, and running paths.
While we were there, we enjoyed a delicious meal right across the road from our apartment! The women helping us had a great spirit, was very kind, and spoke English and Spanish. Most restaurants in Santiago and Mendoza were lovely and had such kind people.

Mendoza is known for its wineries and so we had to visit one. I had never been to a winery so I didn’t know what to expect. This was a lovely, calm, and peaceful oasis. We learnt all about how you make wine, store it, and about the vineyards.

On the final night we had an amazing horse back riding experience at sunset. Friendly people, good food, and lovely horses made this a faboo evening.

It was a very safe feeling place, but so was Santiago where we flew the next day!
In Santiago we started with a bike tour through the city and local markets. The markets were filled with fresh fruits, and delicious vegetables. Once we had walked through the market, we got a tasty snack of sweet potato pastries with a fruit juice.

Throughout our time there we got to do lots of exploring. On our last day, we took the cable car up a big hill, and saw the city from a great view. The city had lots of smog but the mountains looked gorgeous from there. There were fun activities and nice walking paths!

Both cities had nice views, lots of parks, nice restaraunts, and I would definitely recommend both!

I hope you’ve enjoyed todays post! Love you lots, miss you lots! 🩷Madeleine🩷
